“I help women with alopecia reclaim their confidence and calm. I help you decrease your insecurity and anxiety, and to turn up the volume on your confidence, sense of freedom and ability to enjoy life - with or without hair!”

  • Evelien Pabbruwe, The Alopecia Coach

You scheduled an appointment with your doctor because you were worried about your hair. After what felt like endless tests and discussions, you finally received the diagnosis: not a life-threatening condition, but still something that turned your world upside down—alopecia.

Every single day, your hair reminds you. It’s there when you catch your reflection in the mirror or a window. It’s on your pillow in the morning, in the shower drain, and tangled in your brush. You fight back tears and frustration because you don’t want to make it “a big deal.” Other people have real problems, right? And yours is “just” hair. But damn, it’s terrifying, heartbreaking, and it’s shaken you to your core. You try to snap yourself out of it: “Come on, get over it. Toughen up. Stop being so dramatic.”

But then you step outside. Or scroll through Instagram. Or watch TV. And all you can see is hair. Perfect hair. Your neighbor’s sleek braid, those bouncy curls on that influencer’s feed, or the shiny waves on that actress in the commercial. It seems like everyone has effortless, amazing hair. And you feel that pang of jealousy. Not because you’re shallow, but because they look so carefree. They wake up and just go.

You wish you could have that too—just one morning where you’re not immediately consumed by thoughts of your hair. No worrying about the weather (because wind and rain are your worst enemies), no panicking about whether it’s getting worse, and no dread that someone might notice something’s off. Just... freedom.

And there are those negative thoughts again...

By the time you get home, you’re drained. Earlier, when a friend was complimented on her fresh haircut, you quietly slipped away, afraid someone might turn their attention to your hair. You wanted so badly to vent to your partner, but you stopped yourself. Ugh, not this again—hair, hair, hair. They must be so tired of hearing about it, you think.

You don’t want to make it feel like a bigger deal than it already is. But what if they start to notice how bad it really is? What if they see it the way you do? What if they begin to think you’re pathetic... or worse, unattractive? That thought terrifies you. So, you bury your frustration, swallow your sadness, and plaster on a smile like everything’s fine.

Later, as you stand at the sink brushing your teeth, you avoid the mirror. You steal a quick glance but quickly turn away, trying to focus on anything else—something lighter, something happy. But as soon as your head hits the pillow, the worries creep back in. What if it gets even thinner? What if that bald spot grows... or comes back? What will people think? What if they’re whispering behind my back, laughing, judging?

You lie there, trapped in a cycle of fear, frustration, and sadness, wishing for nothing more than just one night of peace.

You don’t want this, and something has to change... but how?

You’re not just sad anymore—you’re starting to feel desperate. You’ve already tried everything: medications, scalp massages, treatments, gels, powders, alternative therapies, vitamins, diets, every product under the sun… and still, nothing works. They’ve told you there’s probably not much that can be done, and to “just wait and see.” So, you’re trying to push through, taking it one day at a time. But you can’t keep carrying this alone. That creeping sense of dread shows up far too often, and before you know it, the tears are falling... again.

Ugh. Something has to change—because this? This isn’t you. You want to feel like yourself again—that vibrant, happy woman who saw opportunities and adventure everywhere. Instead, it feels like you’re sinking deeper and deeper, saying “no” to things you used to embrace without a second thought.

Something has to change. You’re done with this. But where do you even begin?

Imagine this...

Blissful, long nights of sleep and waking up peacefully without instant worries about your hair...

Walking down the street carefree, without constantly thinking about "it"...

Time, energy, and money to spend on the things you truly enjoy, because you’ve stopped investing in treatments and potions that don’t work...

Having fun at birthdays and parties without stressing about your hair...

Healthier, more intimate relationships because you’re feeling more comfortable in your own skin...

Getting back to the sports you love, without being consumed by worries about your hair...

This can be your reality too

Nadia* came to me for coaching because she often found herself unexpectedly bursting into tears over her hair loss. She had a lot of medical appointments but wanted to address the mental and emotional aspects just as thoroughly as the medical side.

"I started coaching because I wanted to learn how to cope with my hair loss and all the related insecurities—like how bad it might get, how quickly it might happen, and whether I, or even others, would still like me. The biggest takeaway for me was becoming aware of the voices in my head and realizing I shouldn’t be so hard on myself. Instead, I’ve learned to treat myself more like a friend."

Sophie* started her coaching journey shortly after getting a hairpiece, but she was terrified to start wearing it. During the coaching sessions, we practiced how she could talk about it with her surroundings. Over time, she wore her hairpiece to the office, on the train, to social events, and even to birthday parties.

"For our next coaching session, I’ll wear my new hairpiece to practice. If there’s anyone who creates a safe space, it’s you!"

After these 6 months…

  • You’ll finally feel more at ease, no matter how much hair you lose. You’re no longer fixated on other people’s hair and have more mental space for what truly matters.

  • You’ll have a clear plan for the future and the tools to face any hair-related challenge with confidence. No more expensive, time-consuming treatments—you’ll feel freer and more in control.

  • You’ll enjoy social events again without worrying about what others might think or say about your hair. You’ve learned that your worth isn’t tied to your hair, and that confidence shines through.

  • You’ll feel connected to a community of women who’ve been through similar journeys. You’ll know you’re not alone and always have support at your fingertips.

  • You’ll feel more freedom to do whatever you want—you’re back in control of your mood and your life. Whether it’s working out, attending that birthday party, or diving into the ocean, your hair loss won’t hold you back anymore.

  • You’ll no longer feel trapped by your alopecia.

This unique coaching program is specifically designed for women like you, who are completely done feeling the way they do now and are ready to reclaim their lives—free from the constant focus on their hair.

Eva* initially felt very angry, sad, and lonely. After the coaching program, she feels much lighter and more optimistic.

"I’m excited about the future again. I now know which tools to use when I’m not feeling my best, and that gives me a sense of stability. I feel less lost and alone because of it. The program, and especially the coaching sessions, felt like coming home—like bricks were being lifted out of my backpack. It felt like a source of stability and immense support."

Tess* reached out to me because she has a public-facing role and wanted to build more self-confidence. She had recently started wearing a hairpiece, something almost no one knew about, and wanted to feel more in control of how she managed it—both for herself and in how she presented it to the world.

"Evelien immediately put me at ease. I was looking for someone with experience to talk to, and with her, I could share everything about my hair loss. I felt an incredible amount of understanding. I was very insecure, but through our conversations and exercises, much of that insecurity has faded. I feel more grounded and handle things much more calmly now. The practical (hairpiece) tips she gave me were also incredibly helpful."

Lena* was diagnosed with alopecia areata and reached out to me shortly after. She noticed that she was increasingly struggling with mood swings, anxiety, and overthinking. Questions like "What will happen?" and "How bad will it get?" consumed her thoughts. She wanted to learn how to live in the moment, so her life wouldn’t come to a standstill, and so she could continue enjoying time with her partner, work, and sports despite the uncertainty of her hair loss.

"Thank you again for the coaching sessions; I found them incredibly helpful and truly feel like I’ve grown as a person. I’m excited to continue developing myself and to keep using the tools we worked on together!"

Charissa* didn’t know anyone else dealing with hair issues and often put herself last. She was used to toughing it out, never complaining, and acting strong—she always managed on her own, and there were no “real problems.” But eventually, that mindset started to wear her down, and she wanted to learn a different way to cope with her hair loss. During our coaching sessions, she felt safe, learned to open up, and began to trust herself more.

"My biggest challenge was dealing with my hair loss and wearing a hairpiece, along with the deep sadness that came with it. A key moment for me was realizing, through talking with Evelien, that I could name my problems out loud. Hearing it from my own mouth made it real. One of the most valuable insights I gained from coaching is that I now truly feel I’m not alone in this. I would absolutely recommend other women to follow the coaching program with Evelien."

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m already working with a therapist or counselor. Would coaching with you add any value?

Absolutely. While a therapist or counselor can provide essential mental support, they likely don’t have personal experience with alopecia. With over 20 years of experience living with alopecia and 1 years of wearing hairpieces, I can guide you not only emotionally but also practically. I understand the pain points and insecurities that come with alopecia and can help you rebuild your confidence step by step. I also offer practical advice on hairpieces, powders, tapes, and more, all based on my personal experiences. Coaching with me is more goal-oriented and practical than traditional therapy—we’ll focus on what you need to move forward in your daily life.

How do I know if this program is right for me?

If you’re struggling with hair loss and feel it’s impacting your life—whether it’s your confidence, social life, or how you see yourself—this program is for you. Together, we’ll address what’s holding you back and help you regain control of your life. If you’re looking for personalized guidance from someone who truly understands what you’re going through, you’re in the right place.

What if I need extra support after the program?
Many clients choose to schedule follow-up or refresher sessions after the program. While I’ll equip you with everything you need, maintaining progress on your own can be challenging. We all encounter difficult situations that can trigger old habits. Follow-up sessions help you reflect and address these challenges as they arise.

How do you handle different time zones for coaching sessions?

I work with clients across various time zones and am flexible in scheduling sessions to accommodate your needs. We’ll find a time that works for both of us, whether you’re in the U.S., Europe, or elsewhere. I’ll always confirm your time zone before scheduling, and I’ll provide clear reminders so there’s no confusion. Thanks to virtual platforms like Zoom, coaching is seamless no matter where you’re located!

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. We can then find a new time that works for both of us.

What happens if the internet connection drops during a session?
Don’t worry, technology glitches happen! If the connection drops, I’ll wait a few minutes for you to reconnect. If the issue persists, we’ll reschedule the remaining time at no additional cost.

When can I start?
Once your payment is received, I’ll contact you within two working days to schedule your the coaching- and implementationcalls. You’ll also receive your first preparatory assignment right away, so you can get started immediately!

How and where do we meet?
You have options: we can meet online via Zoom, or, if you live nearby, we can meet in person in Utrecht (The Netherlands).

How much time should I set aside for the program?
The program includes 6 sessions over 6 months and 6 implementation calls dsuring these 6 months. Coaching sessions lasts about 90 minutes, the implementationcalls take approximately 30 minutes each. Between the coaching sessions, you’ll have assignments and exercises to work on at your own pace. While the time you dedicate is up to you, actively engaging with the process will help you get the most out of the program.

What if I can’t pay the full amount at once?
I understand that this investment requires consideration, so I’ve created several flexible payment options:

  1. You can pay in 1, 3, or 6 installments to spread the cost.

  2. Ask your employer if they’re willing to cover part or all of the cost. Many Dutch employers are open to funding programs that support personal development, well-being, or workplace performance.

  3. If you’re self-employed, the cost may be tax-deductible as a business expense since it supports your vitality and benefits you as an entrepreneur. Please check the rules and regulations your country.

What platforms do you use for online coaching?
I primarily use Zoom for online coaching sessions, but I’m flexible and can use other platforms like Google Meet or Microsoft Teams if you prefer. Let me know what works best for you!

Do you offer evening or weekend sessions for international clients?
I understand that time zones and busy schedules can make it challenging to find the right time. I’m happy to accommodate evening sessions to ensure we find a time that works for both of us.

Do you work with cultural differences?
Yes! I understand that hair loss and self-confidence can be experienced differently across cultures. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share your experiences openly. I also take the time to learn about your background to ensure our coaching resonates with you personally.

I don’t have time.
I completely understand how you feel. There’s always something demanding your attention—work, family, or other responsibilities. But the truth is, there’s never a “perfect” time to focus on yourself. Ask yourself: how much longer do you want to continue worrying, stressing, and losing sleep over this? How much more energy, time, and tears are you willing to spend before taking the step to find peace again? Sometimes, the best thing you can do, even in the midst of a busy life, is to prioritize yourself. When you feel better, everyone and everything around you benefits too.

What if I feel stuck during the program?
That’s completely normal! Coaching is a process, and sometimes you’ll hit a roadblock. When that happens, we’ll work through it together. I’ll adjust the pace and program to meet your needs at that moment. We’ll go at your pace, and I’ll provide practical tips and emotional support to help you move forward. That said, I’ll also give you a loving push when needed—that’s why you’re here, after all!

What if I feel uncomfortable talking about my hair loss?
It’s completely natural to feel vulnerable when discussing your hair loss. Many of my clients feel hesitant to open up at first. But you’ll find that I create a safe and supportive space where you can truly be yourself. There’s no judgment, only understanding. We’ll take things step by step, allowing you to share what feels right at your own pace.

Can you coach effectively in English?

Absolutely! I hold a bilingual diploma and am fluent in English. I’ve worked with English-speaking clients before, and my language skills ensure that our communication is clear and effective. Language will not be a barrier in our coaching sessions, and you can feel confident that I’ll fully understand your needs and express my guidance clearly. Whether we’re working through practical exercises or diving into deeper emotional topics, my fluency in English ensures that our coaching process flows smoothly.

Do I need to be fluent in English to work with you?
Not at all. As long as you’re comfortable speaking English at your own level, we’ll be able to communicate effectively. I’ll make sure you feel understood and supported throughout our coaching session.

Can I book a free consultation to see if we’re a good fit?
Yes, I offer a free introductory session where we can discuss your challenges, goals, and whether my coaching is right for you. It’s a no-pressure way to learn more about my approach and how I can help you. You can book one here or email me directly to book one.

What currency do you accept for payments?
My prices are listed in Euros (€). If you’re paying from outside the EU, Stripe will process your payment in your local currency, and your bank or payment provider will handle the currency conversion automatically. You don’t need to worry about exchanging currencies—it’s all seamless!
